PBIS has also reduced behavioral problems and suspensions.

When data on school discipline revealed a problem with disproportionality (male students 2x<br>more likely to be suspended than girls; 3x more likely for AA males), the school responded with its<br>Equity Program, an initiative designed to educate and sensitize teachers, staff and students about<br>unconscious biases.

ASD NEST PROGRAM AT PS/MS 206

The Nest program serves students with autism in a classroom with general education students. The<br>class is a small Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) class, with one special education teacher and one<br>general education teacher. The co-teaching model (ICT) has been transformational for the school<br>community. Everyone benefits from the mixing. Academics remain rigorous but are now also more<br>layered as the entire community practices the value that every student is unique and receives the<br>services they need.

I AM Project

Students make identity posters to explore, share, and take pride in who they are as a person, what<br>makes them unique, and their differences and similarities. Staff and parents participate. Students learn<br>about themselves and others while they gain community pride.
